Olympic Torch Begins UK Journey

The Olympic torch has started its 70-day journey across the UK from Land's End, the most southwesterly tip of mainland Britain.

The flame arrived in Cornwall in spectacular fashion by helicopter - ready to light up every corner of the UK.
Sailing triple gold medallist Ben Ainslie, who grew up in the nearby town of Falmouth, got the relayunder way at the Land's End landmark signpost at 7.08am, describing the occasion as "one of the more nervous moments of my life".
